Flattened End Connections
Instructions for interaction:
1. To zoom in and out Roll the centre wheel of the mouse.
2. To rotate Click and hold the left mouse button and move the mouse.
3. To move the model around the screen Click and hold the right mouse button and move the mouse.
Notes:
- This design requires vent holes to be placed as close as possible to the flattened area.
- More than one hole may be required for larger cross section areas.
- The total area of the vent holes must equal to the area of a hole with a diameter of at least 25% of the diagonal cross-section of that joint.
- It is important to include the opposing vent holes on the other end and opposite face in a manner such that zinc will not flow out and solidify onto the steel fabrication.
- In all cases, the location of the vent holes must conform to the requirements of AS/NZS 5131 and AS 4100.
